bringing back an oldie

This is from 2 Octobers ago when I was on the Emergen-C Pink Tour.

how perfect is this? I'm in a sea of sugar, while educating the youth of america about breast cancer prevention.

i love candy.

Rocket Science

I saw Rocket Science last night and I loved it! It's an indie comedy about this stuttering high school boy who joins the debate team when approached by champion debater Ginny, who he has a major crush on. Hal's older brother is kleptomaniac with a terrible temper but a big heart and is one of my favorite characters.

I recommend Rocket Science.  It was so funny! I laughed out loud so much, and i hardly ever really laugh at movies. I feel like everyone has a little bit of Hal in them, some (me) more than others.

Writer/Director Jeffrey Blitz said it best when he described Hal as "A character that's the master of nothing in his world." What a perfect little quote.

and i still get excited!

I still get so excited and think how freaking amazing and ridiculous it is that i got this pass and watched John Mayer do his soundcheck and perform at the Beacon Theatre for Fuse.

every time i look at it i just kind of stop and take a deep breath.

and every time i wear my purple heart tank i get a little bit mad at storytellers because thats the shirt i wore to the taping that got me super excited then suuuuper bummed.

The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus

http://www.sonyclassics.com/theimaginariumofdoctorparnassus/

"The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" is a fantastical morality tale, set in the present-day. It tells the story of Dr. Parnassus and his extraordinary 'Imaginarium', a traveling show where members of the audience get an irresistible opportunity to choose between light and joy or darkness and gloom. Blessed with the extraordinary gift of guiding the imaginations of others, Doctor Parnassus is cursed with a dark secret. An inveterate gambler, thousands of years ago he made a bet with the devil, Mr. Nick, in which he won immortality. Centuries later, on meeting his one true love, Dr. Parnassus made another deal with the devil, trading his immortality for youth, on condition that when his daughter reached her 16th birthday, she would become the property of Mr Nick. Valentina is now rapidly approaching this 'coming of age' milestone and Dr. Parnassus is desperate to protect her from her impending fate. Mr. Nick arrives to collect but, always keen to make a bet, renegotiates the wager. Now the winner of Valentina will be determined by whoever seduces the first five souls. Enlisting a series of wild, comical and compelling characters in his journey, Dr. Parnassus promises his daughter's hand in marriage to the man that helps him win."

i want to see this.

billboards top 25 songs of the year mashup

i absolutely love this.

stylist wanted.

now you know i love you, but really? where did you even find those? lets go shopping together.

friday night lights

Man, i just spent the entire weekend watching Friday Night Lights. I started season 1 maybe a week ago, and i've worked all the way through season 3. thats all i did while i was home in harrison for xmas.

season 1 was so great. season 2 was depressing, but also unfinished due to the writers strike.

season 3 picked up again, but the ending wasn't a big happy ending. I'm not really looking forward to new characters if they choose to introduce them as leads. i like the people they've introduced us to already.

thats the problem with shows set in high schools. people get older. they graduate.

i recommend this show.

i didnt get the big whoop about taylor kitsch aka tim riggins until now. total babe once you watch this show.

streeter was/is one of my favorite characters though. and matts such a sweetheart. i love him.

eek season 4. im very nervous for you. not even excited, just nervous.

Ke$ha

i like her. i was very unsure at first.

she does her thang. she don't care. love her attitude. and she's not a biotch.

got her album "Animal" at work today. listened twice. its fun. silly. is she real? i sometimes wonder. so much glitter.

if you just smile

what can i possibly look like to everyone else? do i look like im in a constant state of depression?

people are ALWAYS telling me to smile.

im not upset, im not sad, im fine. i just dont walk around with a constant smile plastered on my face.

who worked for these people?

years later, i still have flashbacks to this little number:

How did this happen? who were their handlers? do they own mirrors? was there any denim left in the world that year?

so many questions.

what do they think now?

Baby Wigs!

got it from Carla, who got it from here: http://www.thefrisky.com/post/246-new-disturbing-trend-baby-wigs/

New Disturbing Trend: Baby Wigs

New Disturbing Trend: Baby WigsSandraRose.com

SandraRose.com featured this sad story of a mother (her name was kept anonymous, probably better for her safety) who got really sick and tired of her baby being so … bald. “It’s never too early for my baby to start looking glamorous like Beyonce!” said the mother. What did she decide to do about the problem? She gave her kid some long, luxurious locks, natch. Don’t worry, she didn’t get her a weave, which could be painful and dangerous for baby’s head. She got her a less dangerous, yet still fiercely fashionable, lace front wig. “I wouldn’t be caught dead without my lace front and my baby won’t either,” this doting mother explained. OK. I’m not laughing anymore. Does this scare the crap out of anyone else? I don’t know whether to cry or call Child Protective Services. What if this trend catches on? Then what’s next? Thong diapers? Adam Lambert is a sweetheart

I got to meet him tonight and told him I was a big fan and can't stop listening to the album. And that it got me to go to the gym, which i hadnt hit up in about 2 months. He was like yeah! its a good workout album, just skip the 3 ballads. I was like no! Power walk!

He was really sweet.

I worked jingle ball tonight, just in the press area not the show part. john mayer did no press :( but it was fun!

john mayer storytellers taping

We get there. we check in. they tell me i might ask a question. they seat me and the other couple of question people first with our guests. I was in the 4th row, center. I was the alternate question.

They come up to me after everyone else is seated and tell me i'm going to be asking my question to John Mayer tonight and move us to the 2nd row, center.

I was shaking. so nervous. me? talking to JOHN MAYER? he's going to look at me and talk to ME?!?!

i rehearsed my question a million times with Maura, and i got it down perfectly.

The question round comes along, they go through everyone they had EXCEPT ME!!!!!!!!!! oh my gosh!!!!

I was soooooo disappointed. It was such an amazing taping and an awesome event, and all i can think of is how they got me stoked out of my mind and dropped me like a hot potato. What the heck?!?!

but i was in the 2nd row, and we made so much eye contact. At one point i was singing the wrong words while he was looking at me.

i love him. so much. i need to meet him. tonight could have held one of the most amazing moments ever.

Here was my question they wanted me to ask:

You went to Berkley but left before graduation to pursue your career in music. Was it easy to leave or did you feel there was more to learn at school?

adam lambert

this album cover is so amazing. and so is this album. he got me, im totally interested in this man. hes like a boy lady gaga.

the first track sounds like it was a 2009 pop/rock song written for and sung by freddie mercury.

the 2nd song sounds like the electric dream machine collaborated with him.

the rest of the album is fun. i listened to it 3 times today. twice at the gym.

yeah, thats right. the gym. don't get too excited though, i only power walked. i didnt want my legs to hurt bc i have to wear heels on thursday.

whatever works

Saw "Whatever Works" on the plane, as well as "The Time Travelers Wife" and "500 Days of Summer."

I really liked WW! its a Woody Allen film, which in the past I have found I generally dislike. But I loved Larry Davids super cynical, overly paranoid character. and Even Rachel Wood was surprisingly excellent as the naive and impressionable young lady from the south.

I recommend it.
