slippers and disclaimers

So, i got contacted about my seriously?! Friday post, and I just want to put it out there that a good or bad band name does not reflect the music, and I don't judge music based on the name.

Last night Allison helped me knit slippers. You knit HUGE socks with 100% wool, then you put it in the wash or you scrub together in hot water to felt the slipper. Then you put your foot in it so it will shape to your foot.

Last Friday I started my weekly installment of Seriously?! Friday, where I pick the worst artist/band name from my video screening meeting.


This week there were two pretty terrible names. So I'll name a first and 2nd place winner (loser?).

And without further ado, I present to you the runner up :

Vulture Whale. seriously?! what does that even mean. those are 2 very different animals. come on.

Working in music television, I see a whole ton of videos from a very colorful spectrum of bands. And Friday morning we watch the music videos that were submitted for the week in our video screening meeting, giving each submitted video an equal shot at making it onto our channel.

Skimming through the list of videos, there are always a few band names that make you stop and think...Seriously?! You're really calling your band that?

Which leads me to my Seriously?! Friday franchise. Every Friday I will let you into my world, one terrible band name at a time.
