So, i got contacted about my seriously?! Friday post, and I just want to put it out there that a good or bad band name does not reflect the music, and I don't judge music based on the name.
Last night Allison helped me knit slippers. You knit HUGE socks with 100% wool, then you put it in the wash or you scrub together in hot water to felt the slipper. Then you put your foot in it so it will shape to your foot.
This is the big slipper pre-felt.
This is it after I felted it:
ignore that hole. its my first one.
But I only made one.
Now I'm making dinner then doing my kick boxing/dancing workout dvd. SWEEEEET!

nose warmer

Knitty.com has knitting patterns. They have one for this nose warmer. I should probably make one so I can stop holding my nose in my hand when it gets cold.
Here's the pattern if you want to make it: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter02/PATTnosewarmer.html

(not a) VIDEO UPDATE!
I think i burned all my cookie and cake calories off when blink 182 announced they were getting back together!
I decided to delete my video entry because i was WAY too excited. and I had a lot of sugar yesterday. I'm sorry. but i was out of control.
I said that I'm so so so excited about blink 182 reuniting. and I finished me sweet headband.
You can kind of see it in this pic. I was trying to take a video but i hit camera by accident:
And we (jes allison and i) decorated this sweet (cup) cake today at my bakery:
also, how is M.I.A. performing right now?! Her baby is going to fall out. she looks like she's in a puffy ladybug costume!

I'm watching my tv now. There is nothing on at 2 am on sat morning. I should be out raging. but im sitting in my bed, watching alex trebek host an infomercial and knitting.
This is me and my new favorite thing:
Finally went to the Brooklyn Library. Central Branch. Its HUGE! So big. Allison and I looked at the knitting books and the music biz books, but didn't take anything out.
Today I finished Sean's hat! Yay. And I started a headband.

The headband should look like this when it's done:
Now it's bedtime.
I need to make something with my mustard yarn. Any suggestions?
Also - yes. i do always smile like that while i knit.

knit a hat.
I went to the yarn store with Allison last night and bought Pine green yarn and needles. And now I'm going to make that hat.
I'll keep you all updated on my progress throughout this experience.
I really enjoy "A Long Way Down" by Nick Hornby. Only a few pages left. It's about a group of 4 people who met because they all went up on this rooftop with the intentions of jumping off and ending their lives. But they all started talking and didn't jump that night. It's told from each of their points of view.
Next I'm reading "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell.
Tonight is the last night for Restaurant week!
Tomorrow I have brunch with Ko, then Milk & Honey! wooo!
Sunday I FINALLY get to go to the dentist :)
I had a meeting with Keep A Breast, Spencers, and 2 other non-profits - I'm too young (www.Imtooyoungforthis.org) and Young Survival Coalition. (www.youngsurvival.org). They are both organizations focused on the lifestyle after cancer, particularly for young adults 18-39. I almost cried a few times during the meeting. not gunna lie. such inspiring people. And Spencers are amazing in their efforts and passion to help out.
So if you know anyone who is or has been affected by cancer, those are 2 amazing organizations aimed to help out cancer survivors.
